FAQ

How to backup your database?

The database used SQL includes a backup engine. We recommend using the daily, weekly, and monthly backup method. Simply, create a backup file with all the days of the week, each daily backup erases the parallel day of the week before and at the end of the week you backup the entire week and the end of the month the entire month.

This process is proven to be very effective with the best possible utilization of space.

When is it recommended to use a virtual tag that registers values in real time verse mathematical formulas that are used in generated reports?

It is recommended to use a virtual tag verses a mathematical formula when the value of the virtual tag is needed in a number of reports and when the results are needed for additional configurations. It is also very valuable when there are configured parameters which influence other parameters.

How does the system filter noise?

Filtering noise is a complex issue that i-Green is capable of achieving with a number of different robust statistical tools. One method that is commonly used by i-Green to filter noise is by incorporating predefined rules.  Another statistical method used is the classification of parameters and the presentation of these parameters on a timeline that enables a generic method of noise filtering by the user.

Is it possible to automatically export data to excel and process in the excel file?

Yes, the module which automates the export of data is called Excel Template. The procedure used to take advantage of this module is simple. All the parameters needed are already modeled into the hierarchy tree all that is needed is to decide on a format and time period.

When do we recommend to use the excel module?

This module is very popular. It is used when you have to provide a report to regulators in a format that does not allow editing. It is also very effective when there are a number of sources of information such as internal and external laboratories.

Does i-Green have the capability to distribute reports via email?

With i-Green's  Report Distributor you may send reports electronically. The system automates the distribution as defined either by schedule or on trigger , you may designate  as many email addresses or files. There are a number of convenient options to designate the distribution.

What is the difference between i-Green and a report developing application such as COGNOS, Crystal report and Access reports?

i-Green is a Business Intelligence application for infrastructure facilities that is simple to implement, simple database creation and has a broad set of formulas for intuitive report generation.  As oppose to a project being built with a developing application that is labor intensive and inflexible in implementation. The important difference is the specialist capabilities of the system and the flexibility in which the customer can exploit these expert capabilities to increase productivity, cost savings and the confidence of the regulators.

What are the necessary steps for the installation of i-Green?

Installing i-Green requires minimum resources and can be implemented with in days. The implementation stages are straight forward and include; setting up the goals of the project, installation, training and fine tuning. The first part of the project requires the description of the project’s goals. Once the goals have been established modeling the necessary sources is an easy task.  Second stage, is the implementation of the sources’ addresses. The addresses can be automatically populated into the system and are immediately ready to show real time information.  Once the tags or virtual (calculated) tags are established the system is ready to generate reports. Which brings us to the third stage and that is training and fine tuning.  Additional modules can be installed initially or later in time.

Can i-Green be installed on an off-sight server?

Facilities that prefer to keep i-Green off-sight have the option to do so.  You may use IOSight’s server or any external server service. .
